Our Story

If you have missed travel as much as I have then you get how important it is to be planning something, anything, to look forward to.  Overseas travel may be off the cards for us Aussies and even border closures make interstate travel hit and miss, but that does not mean you should wait.  Planning your next adventure, whether it is in your backyard or further beyond is half the fun.  From research, ideas, logistics to clothing and books, I plan to blog about all things travel.

Blogs will initially be all things local to me here in South Gippsland, but with a daughter living in the UK and a son who is mad on Japan I have lots of places on my list as soon as it is safe.

My husband and I have been travelling since we met nearly 30 years ago.  From dragging a 2yo child through the UK to picking up our 3rd child from Ethiopia we have always tackled travel in the same way….researching and planning.  I am not one who can wing it.  I like to know what to expect and how to get to where I need to be.  That sounds boring and unadventurous but I am an introvert and I do not ask questions of strange people.  Thank goodness for wifi – I can now find my way anywhere assuming I have service.   We have spreadsheets with itineraries, where to stay, how to get there and how much it should cost.  While we travel on a budget, we are not backpacking or skimping, it is just to keep track.  We also keep the spreadsheets going along side journals so that we can remember where photos were taken and reminisce about the good and bad of our travels.

My blog is brand new and I still work full time in the corporate world (hence the transition to a new more relaxed career) so I am still learning and growing.  I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas or subjects you would like researched that may help others.

So join me as we step through all the local towns either in our old caravan or day trips and I hope that I inspire you to at least, plan a trip for a day, a week or even a year.
