15 Photos to inspire you to visit Port Fairy
I am still unsure how we managed to spend a week in Port Fairy between lockdowns and work commitments, but I am so glad we did. Port Fairy, in south west Victoria, is somewhere we had never stayed before. Previous trips we had stayed in Warrnambool and not ventured the extra 30kms around the coast. What is interesting is that I had done very little preparation for this trip. It seemed the week opened up and the destination was chosen all within hours and then we left. For someone who researches everything this was a bazaar experience, but one I embraced and I was surprised as to what Port Fairy has to offer.
If you have not visited Port Fairy it is well worth the trip. We stayed for a full week and could have stayed longer. The streets have so much history you can wander for hours. The restaurants and cafes did not disappoint and we had a number of amazing meals and great coffee. I also managed to squeeze in a few hours at the Port Fairy Day Spa, highly recommended. We stayed in the caravan at the Port Fairy Holiday Park – the heated pool was amazing and the sites were generous and private. We will definitely be back.
